Cancer Prevention and Palliative Care Sensitization Campaign during 7 day Camp of NSS - JNU on 03rd April 2015


As a part of the 7 day Camp organized by the NSS Wing of Jawahar Lal Nehru University in the name of “Youth for Better Society” from 29th March to 5th April 2015, the volunteers of DNipCare conducted a Cancer Awareness and Palliative Care Sensitization Program for the participating students in the forenoon of 3rd April 2015 in the School of international Studies in the Campus. 
Mrs. KB Usha, Assistant Professor & Coordinator of NSS, JNU presided over the program.  Dr. Rajani Mutneja talked on the prevention and treatment protocols including Palliative Home Care and Hospice Care requirement for ailing patients.  KV Hamza, Gen. Secretary, DNipCare emphasized on the role of students and the efficacy of catching them young in order to evolve a better generation empathetic to the plight of ailing patients around us. 
Mr. Suresh Thaliyaril, Secretary, DNipCare explained the activities of the organization in the field of Palliative Home Care and Outpatient Clinical Services for chronically ill patients.  Mr. Arun Unnikrishanan, Mohammed Haseeb and Omana Gopal interacted with the student community on Palliative Care movement.   

Ms. Ankita Chauhan welcomed the audience and Mr. Sumesh MN said the vote of thanks.

On 7th day of the NSS Camp (05th April 2015), the Students reached out to the Delhi State Cancer Institute Dharamshala with DNipCare Volunteers to visit Cancer Patients and provide Palliative emotional support to the patients
